Geraniums have a long flowering time, making them a favourite of gardeners and they tolerate extremely cold winters.
They can be easily grown from seed, and indeed they readily self sow around the garden so that the geranium enthusiast always has plants to spare.
They can also be grown from cuttings. They can grow tall - up to a metre high - or hug the ground as beautiful carpets of divided leaves and delicate flowers.
