Caerhays castle looks rather like a Norman stronghold, but it was built in the early 1800s. It has impressive views over the sea and the gardens are about 100 acres.
In the spring there are spectacular displays of magnolias, camellias and rhododendrons in bloom. In addition there is a huge range of rare woodland trees and shrubs originating primarily from China.
