It is possible to get very serious about carrots.
Not only are these carrots many times larger than anything you will see in the shops, but each entry to the carrot class comprises five carrots of matching size and exemplary quality.
There are of course special tricks that are used to grow such carrots, and harvesting has to be done with great care!
Some grow them in drain pipes, others drill wide holes deep into the ground and fill them with a special soil and fertiliser mixture.
